Finance Business Partner
This is a new and exciting role within the Finance team. We are offering hybrid working and the role is available for part time or full time applicants with a minimum of 3 days per week.

You will be joining a team of 26 people, situated across our different sites and the collective team goals are to:
- Deliver high quality, accurate and informative reporting across the group to support decision making and meet compliance objectives with Divisional results available by WD10.
- Ensure robust controls across the group and further develop forecasting reliability to support our business objective of an effective cleandown.
- Bring deeper insights of our results to provoke corrective action where needed and discussions of what strategic actions are required.
You will be working closely with a number of the finance team members to collaborate and deliver on these goals. We are a diverse business and there will be opportunities to up skill and progress in your career should you desire to do so.

Let's take a look at your day to day tasks
- Support the annual budget process and in-year reforecasts, including P&L, BS and cash flow modelling.
- Provide analysis for variances against budget, particularly at gross margin level.
- Point of contact for ad hoc sales team queries regarding customer orders/invoices (typically around products, quantities, values and margins).
- Work with the Sales Director to answer specific queries, and to develop regular reports for internal use. Liaise with the IT team to set up automation of new and existing reports.
- Updating and distributing regular weekly/monthly sales reports.
- Support larger strategic decision-making projects, e.g. new product analysis, pricing, and profit initiatives.
- Compile and submit quarterly Plastic Packaging Tax returns. Provide half-yearly packaging data to the Sustainability Manager for EPR reporting. Support with calculations and analysis for B Corp recertification.
- Follow up on monthly cost centre reports to investigate variances versus budget or forecast.
- Work with the Data Analyst to maintain up-to-date financial data in the company data lake, and ensure that reports generated are consistent with figures produced by the finance team and reconcile to the financial accounts.
- Deputise for Head of Commercial Finance as appropriate.
What attributes do I need
- Qualified accountant. Would suit a candidate 3-5 years post-qualified looking for a second role in industry that allows them to really get under the skin of the business and contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Good time management, able to prioritize and work to deadlines.
- Ability to build credibility with stakeholders, understand what they need and anticipate follow-up questions.
- Comfortable communicating financial concepts to non-financial colleagues, and able to simplify complex explanations appropriately for the audience.
- Capable of focusing on the details, or taking a high-level view, depending on the specific requirements of the problem at hand.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a well-developed sense of humour, having the drive and desire to learn from others and to perform to a consistently high standard.
- Knowledge of SQL would be highly advantageous.
- Previous experience with Lucanet, OpenAccounts or NAV would be beneficial.
- Advanced in the use of MS Excel and comfortable with understanding spreadsheets developed by others and the use of complex formulas.
What are my hours and working days
This is a hybrid role working Monday to Friday with no weekend work. We are open to offering a part time or full time position with a minimum of 3 days per week and the salary will be pro-rata.
